Uvwie Towns And Villages
Uvwie is one of Delta State’s 25 local government areas, set in the Urhobo-speaking core of the Warri metropolitan area in southern Nigeria. Effurun is its headquarters and the road gateway to Warri city and Osubi Airport. The area covers about 92 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 188,728 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 258,700, making Uvwie one of Delta’s most built-up councils. It holds ten wards: Effurun I and II, Enerhen I and II, Ugborikoko, Ugboroke, Ugbomro-Ugbolokposo, Army Barracks Area, and Ekpan I and II.
