Bomadi Towns And Villages

Bomadi is a Local Government Area in Delta State, Nigeria. Its headquarters, Bomadi town, sits on the north bank of the Forcados River in the state’s Ijaw (Izon) south. The area covers a low-lying creek country of about 1,036 square kilometres.

The 2006 census counted roughly 117,900 residents, almost all of them Ijaw. Bomadi holds ten wards: Bomadi, Kpakiama, Esanma, Ogriagbene, Kolafiogbene-Ekametagbene, Ogbeinama-Okoloba, Akugbene I, Akugbene II, Akugbene III and Ogo-Eze. Fishing, farming and river transport carry most of the local economy.
