Ndokwa East Towns And Villages
Ndokwa East is a riverine Local Government Area in the north-east of Delta State, Nigeria, with its headquarters at Aboh on the River Niger. It covers about 1,617 square kilometres and had a population of 103,224 at the 2006 census, projected to roughly 141,500 by 2022. Its people are Ndokwa (Ukwuani-Aboh), an Igbo-speaking group of the western Niger.
Aboh was the seat of the old Aboh Kingdom, a trading power on the lower Niger before the colonial era. Today the LGA groups its communities into ten wards, among them Ossissa, Ase, Ibedeni, Ashaka and the Okpai-Utchi-Beneku cluster, where the Okpai gas-and-power plant sits beside the river.
