Oruk Anam Towns And Villages

Oruk Anam is a Local Government Area in the southwest of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and by land area the state’s largest. Its headquarters sit at Ikot Ibritam. The LGA covers about 543.9 square kilometres and is home to the Annang people.

The 2006 census counted 171,839 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 219,300. Oruk Anam has 13 wards, among them Ekparakwa, Ibesit, Ndot/Ikot Okoro and Abak Midim.

Rt. Hon. Sunday Festus Akpan chairs the council. Governor Umo Eno praised the LGA’s development spending in March 2026.
