Geography
Ibesikpo Asutan sits on the low, gently rolling plain of central Akwa Ibom, inside Nigeria’s humid rainforest belt. Farmland, oil-palm bush and compact village settlements cover most of the 175.5 square kilometres.
The LGA borders Uyo to the north, Uruan to the east, Etinan to the west, and Nsit Ubium and Nsit Ibom to the south. Nung Udoe Itak, the headquarters, lies roughly 15 kilometres south of Uyo, the state capital.
