Ungogo Towns And Villages
Ungogo is a Local Government Area in Kano State, Nigeria, on the northern fringe of Kano city. Its secretariat sits in Ungogo town. Bayero University Kano’s main campus and staff quarters fall inside the LGA, in Rijiyar Zaki ward.
The 2006 census counted 365,737 residents. A 2022 projection put the figure near 601,500. The LGA has 11 wards: Bachirawa, Gayawa, Kadawa, Karo, Panisau, Rangaza, Rijiyar Zaki, Tudun Fulani, Ungogo, Yadakunya and Zango.
Kano’s urban sprawl has folded much of Ungogo into its fringe — several wards mix farming villages with city streets and estates. The list below sticks to named settlements and quarters, checked against the 2015 INEC ward and polling-unit directory and the GRID3 Nigeria settlement dataset; street and compound-level addresses were left out.
