Dala Towns And Villages
Dala is a Local Government Area inside the old walled city of Kano, Kano State, Nigeria. It was carved out of the former Kano Municipal LGA in May 1989. Its headquarters sits at Gwammaja.
The LGA covers about 19 square kilometres in the north-western quarter of Kano city, around the Dala Hill area that gave it its name. It is one of the smallest LGAs in Nigeria by land area and one of the most densely built up.
The 2006 census counted 418,777 residents. A 2022 projection put the figure near 688,700, reflecting continued in-fill growth inside the old city walls.
Dala has no rural fringe: every entry below is a city ward, checked against the 2015 INEC ward and polling-unit records and the GeoNames gazetteer.
