Kumbotso Towns And Villages

Kumbotso is a Local Government Area in Kano State, Nigeria, on the southern edge of Kano city. Its headquarters sits at Kumbotso town. The area covers about 158 square kilometres.

The 2006 census counted a population of 294,391. A 2022 projection put the figure near 484,200. Kumbotso holds 11 wards: Challawa, Chiranchi, Danbare, Danmaliki, Guringawa, Kumbotso, Kureken Sani, Mariri, Na’ibawa, Panshekara and Unguwar Rimi.

Farmers grow sorghum, rice, beans and onions across the LGA, and the Yanlemo market in Na’ibawa ward trades fruit brought in from across the region. Kumbotso sits directly against Kano Municipal, Fagge, Gwale and Tarauni within Kano city, and against Dawakin Kudu, Dawakin Tofa and Madobi further out.
