Lamurde Towns And Villages

Lamurde is a Local Government Area in the southwest of Adamawa State, on the east bank of the Benue River. Its headquarters sit at Lamurde town, near 9.61°N, 11.79°E. The people are mainly Bwatiye (Bachama) and Tsobo, with Hausa and Fulani communities as well.

The area spans about 2,098 square kilometres. The 2006 census counted 112,803 residents, projected to roughly 171,600 by 2022. The main postal code is 642104. The council runs ten wards: Dubwangun, Gyawana, Lafiya, Lamurde, Mgbebongun, Ngbakowo, Opalo, Rigange, Suwa and Waduku.
