Toungo Towns And Villages
Toungo is the largest local government area in Adamawa State by land, covering about 5,646 square kilometres in the state’s far south. Its headquarters sit at Toungo town, near 8°07′N 12°03′E, on the border with Taraba State and Cameroon. The 2006 census counted 52,179 residents, and a 2022 projection put the figure at 80,500.
Most people here speak Fulfulde or Chamba Donga, with Hausa also common. The land runs into the Gashaka-Gumti National Park, and honey, farming, hunting and lumbering anchor the local economy. Postal codes fall in the 641 range, with Toungo town at 641106.
