Demsa Towns And Villages
Demsa is a Local Government Area in the southwest of Adamawa State, Nigeria, on the south bank of the River Benue. Its council seat sits at Demsa town, near Numan. The area covers about 1,593 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 95,149 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 275,100. Demsa holds ten wards: Bille, Borrong, Demsa, Dilli, Dong, Dwam, Gwamba, Kpasham, Mbula Kuli and Nassarawo Demsa.
Bachama, Bata, Mbula, Bille, Yandang and Fulani people farm and fish along the Benue floodplain. Hon. Akham Jalo has chaired the council since June 2026.
