Girei Towns And Villages

Girei is a Local Government Area in Adamawa State, in north-east Nigeria. It lies on the north bank of the Benue River, just across the water from Yola. The 2006 census counted 129,855 people, projected to about 200,200 by 2022.

The council seat is Girei town. INEC splits the area into ten wards: Dakri, Damare, Gerei I, Girei II, Gereng, Jera Bakari, Jera Bonyo, Modire/Vinikilang, Tambo and Wuro Dole. Fulfulde is the main language, and Bwatiye (Bata) families farm villages such as Labondo. The postal code is 652105.
