Port-Harcourt is a Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria, and the state capital. It grew from the port the British opened on Ikwerre land in 1913, absorbing the Rebisi kingdom’s villages into the city.

The LGA covers about 109 square kilometres on the east bank of the Bonny River. It recorded 538,558 people at the 2006 census. A 2022 projection put the population near 774,600.

The postal code for the area is 500001. Sir (Hon.) Allwell Ihunda is the current Executive Chairman of Port-Harcourt Local Government Area.
