Obio-Akpor is bordered by Port Harcourt, Oyigbo, Eleme, Ikwerre, Etche, and Emohua. It’s at 4°45’N, 4°60’N, 6°50’E, and 8°00’E.

Obio-Akpor is a lowland region with an average elevation below 30m. Geology is alluvial sedimentary basin and basement complex. Vegetation includes dense mangroves, raffia palms, and moderate rainforest. High rainfall makes the soil sandy or sandy loam. Under a layer of impermeable pan, it’s always leached.
