Khana Towns And Villages

Khana is a Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria, with its headquarters at Bori. It is the largest of Ogoniland’s four LGAs and has four districts: Babbe, Ken-Khana, Nyo-Khana and Bori Urban.

Khana had 292,924 people at the 2006 census, projected to 421,300 by 2022. It borders Gokana and Tai to the west. The Yorla oilfield lies within the LGA, and decades of oil pollution here have drawn UNEP’s 2011 Ogoniland environmental review.

Its postal code is 502101 for Bori town and 502102 for the rest of the LGA. Writer and Ogoni activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, executed in 1995, was born in Bori; his family’s home village is Bane, inside Khana.
