Konshisha Towns And Villages

Konshisha is a Local Government Area in Benue State, Nigeria, bordered by Gboko to the north, Gwer to the west, Ushongo and Vandeikya to the east, and Cross River State to the south. Its headquarters sits at Tse-Agberagba. The area covers about 1,673 square kilometres.

The 2006 census counted 226,492 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 327,000. Konshisha holds eleven wards: Ikyurav/Mbatwer, Mbagusa/Mbatser, Mbaikyase, Mbaiwarnyam, Mbake, Mbanor, Mbatsen, Mbavaa, Mbawar, Mbayegh/Mbaikyer and Tse-Agberagba. The postal code is 971.

The Tiv people are the dominant ethnic group here, organised into the Gaav and Shangev-Tiev traditional districts. Farming carries the local economy — yam, cassava, rice, guinea corn and soya beans — alongside trade, quarrying and food processing.
