Gwer East/Gwer West Towns And Villages

Gwer East and Gwer West are two Local Government Areas in Benue State, Nigeria. Gwer East’s headquarters sits at Aliade; Gwer West’s at Naka. The 2006 census counted 168,660 residents in Gwer East (2022 projection 243,500) and 122,313 in Gwer West (2022 projection 176,600).

The Tiv people organise the area into five traditional districts spanning both LGAs: Ingohov, Njiriv, Raav, Mbakpa and Yonov. Gwer West’s chairman is Hon. Ormin Torsar Victor.
