Ido/Osi Towns And Villages
Ido/Osi is a Local Government Area in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Ido Ekiti town holds the council headquarters, with the secretariat sited between Ido and Usi. The 2006 census counted 160,001 residents across an area of 356 square kilometres.
Ten towns make up the traditional Ido Kingdom, locally called Ido mewa: Ido, Ifaki, Orin, Ifisin, Igbole, Ilogbo, Usi, Oke-Ora, Odo-Ora and Ilogun. Osi and Ayetoro form two further council wards outside that kingdom grouping. Farmers grow rice, cassava and cocoa; sawmills operate at Ido, Ora, Usi and Osi, alongside bakeries, weaving and handicraft trades. The LGA borders Moba, Ijero, Ilejemeje and Ado Ekiti local governments.
