Kwali Towns And Villages
Kwali is one of the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, roughly 60 kilometres southwest of Abuja city. Its own headquarters is Kwali town. The council covers about 1,206 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 86,174 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 188,000. Kwali holds ten wards: Ashara, Dafa, Gumbo, Kilankwa, Kundu, Kwali, Pai, Wako, Yangoji and Yebu.
Gbagyi and Hausa farming communities work the area’s river-valley land, much of it drained by the Usuma and Gurara rivers. Kwali borders Abuja Municipal (AMAC) and Gwagwalada within the FCT, and Kogi State to the south.
