Gurara Towns And Villages
Gurara is a Local Government Area in Niger State, Nigeria, bordering the Federal Capital Territory. Its headquarters sits at Gawu. The area covers about 954 square kilometres and is home to the Gurara Waterfalls.
The 2006 census counted 90,879 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 155,900. Gurara holds ten wards: Bonu, Diko, Gawu, Izom, Kabo, Kwaka, Lambata, Lefu, Shako and Tufa.
The Gwari and Bassa peoples farm and trade across the area, which sits along the Kaduna-Abuja corridor near the Gurara River.
