Since the region’s two most populous groups each have their own king, a single ruler is not in place. Both Eko Epe and Ijebu Epe are considered to be part of the larger town of Epe. Epe day, Ebi day, Ojude-Oba, and the Kayo-kayo Festival are some of the most well-known holidays observed in Epe territory.
The Lagos State Government created a sculpture of two enormous fish at a major intersection on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, which serves as the main gateway into Epe.
