Abi Towns And Villages
Abi is a Local Government Area in Cross River State, Nigeria, along the Cross River. Its headquarters sits at Itigidi, once known locally as “Little London” for its early mission schools. Ebonyi State borders it to the west, Biase to the south, and Yakurr to the east.
The 2006 census counted 219,800 residents. Abi holds ten wards: Adadama, Afafanyi/Igonigoni, Ebom, Ediba, Ekureku I, Ekureku II, Imabana I, Imabana II, Itigidi and Usumutong.
Abi is home to Bahumono, Agbo and Igbo (Ekureku/Imabana) communities and hosts an annual cultural festival.
