Ojo is an LGA and a town in Nigeria’s Lagos State. There is a university there called Lagos State. Ojo is about 37 kilometres west of Lagos, on the eastern portion of the Trans–West African Coastal Highway. In other words, it is a major urban area in the Lagos region.

In Ojo, the Olojo wears the crown during the annual Olojo celebration. Whenever an Olojo or Baale passes away, celebrations called Oro are held. Some attendees of the Oro Festival have complained about what they see as sexist overtones.  Various deities and heroes are honoured at festivals like Egungun, Obaluwaye, Sango, Ogun, Ota, and Osun. Other festivals observed in the Otto-Awori area include Iyemoja, Gelede, and Alaalu.
