Tureta Towns And Villages
Tureta is a Local Government Area in Sokoto State, Nigeria, with its headquarters at Tureta town. The LGA had a population of 68,414 at the 2006 census, projected to 118,100 by 2022, across an area of 2,383 km2.
Tureta borders Zamfara State to the south and east. Hausa is the dominant language, and most residents practice Islam; farming and fishing are the main occupations, and the sarkin Burmin Tureta is the traditional ruler.
