Nwangele Towns And Villages
Nwangele is a Local Government Area in Imo State, Nigeria, with its headquarters at Amaigbo. It had a population of 127,691 in the 2006 census, across an area of 63 km2 (24 sq mi). The Nwangele River, which rises near Isiekenesi and feeds the Oramiriukwa, an Imo River tributary, marks the boundary between Amaigbo and Umuozu Isu.
The area holds several autonomous communities: Amaigbo, Abajah, Umuozu, Umunakara, Dim Na Nume, and four Abba-area communities — Umudurunwa Abba, Ogwuaga Abba, Ekitiafor Abba and Umuopara Abba. Nwangele borders Nkwerre to the north, Isiala Mbano to the south, Ideato South and Onuimo to the east, and Isu Local Government Area to the west.
Most residents farm cassava, garri, palm oil and palm kernel, or trade; a large number of Nwangele natives live and work outside the area. The list below was checked name by name against the 2015 INEC ward and polling-unit directory, GRID3 settlement data and GeoNames.
