Ngala Towns And Villages

Ngala is a Local Government Area in Borno State, Nigeria, on the border with Cameroon. Its headquarters sits at Gamboru, commonly called Gamboru Ngala. The LGA covers about 1,465 square kilometres.

The 2006 census counted 237,071 residents. Later population figures vary widely across sources because of insurgency-era displacement in this part of Borno; no reliable current estimate exists. Ngala has twelve wards: Sagir, Fuye, Gamboru “B”, Gamboru “C”, Logumane, Ndufu, Ngala, Old Gamboru “A”, Tunokalia, Warshele, Wulgo and Wurge.

Ngala is one of sixteen LGAs in the Dikwa Emirate, a traditional state within Borno. The area’s postal code is 611.

A block of names previously published under a separate “Ranna District” heading has been removed: it belongs to neighbouring Kala/Balge LGA, not Ngala.
