Gubio Towns And Villages
Gubio is a Local Government Area in Borno State, Nigeria’s northeast, roughly 97 kilometres north of Maiduguri on the road to Damasak. Its headquarters sit in Gubio town, and the area covers about 2,464 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 151,286 residents; the 2022 projection put the population near 221,700. Gubio holds ten wards: Ardimini, Dabira, Felo, Gamowo, Gazabure, Gubio Town I, Gubio Town II, Kingowa, Ngetra and Zowo. The postal code is 602102.
Kanuri-speaking farmers and herders work across the LGA’s ten wards, part of the Borno Emirate’s traditional council structure. On 9 June 2020, gunmen believed linked to Boko Haram killed 81 people in Gubio town.
