Sokoto North is a Local Government Area in Sokoto State, Nigeria. It forms the core of Sokoto city, the state capital, covering 51 km2 with 233,012 residents at the 2006 census, projected to 402,200 by 2022.
The LGA is divided into 11 registration wards under six named districts: Waziri, Magajin Gari, Magajin Rafi, Sarkin Musulmi, Sarkin Adar Gandu and Sarkin Adar Gidan Igwai.
