Kuje is a market city with roadside stores offering drugs, supplies, building materials, ironmongery, tools, phone cards, and music CDs. It also has some “independent” gas stations with unreliable pumps.

Kuje’s public and private schools include Government Secondary School, Kuje Science Primary School, Capital Science AcademyDFGS Glorious Shining Star Academy, Nigeria-Ghana International College, and Aflon Digital Academy.

In the centre of Kuje is a 4-day market with stalls offering fruit, vegetables, fresh meat, various food, home items, fabric, shoes, clothing, smoked salmon, and posters of European footballers with their houses, spouses, and automobiles.

Due to its proximity to Abuja and the eradication of informal settlements along the airport route, a residential building in Kuje is booming.

Unbuilt housing zones have well-paved roads while existing residential neighbourhoods have potholed dirt roads.
