Neath Port Talbot, also written as Castell-nedd Port Talbot in Welsh, is a county borough in the southwest of Wales.

Neath, Port Talbot, Briton Ferry, and Pontardawe are its most important towns. The county borough is surrounded by land on three sides.

To the east are Bridgend County Borough and Rhondda Cynon Taf; to the north are Powys and Carmarthenshire; and to the west are Swansea.

It has the eighth most people of any local authority area in Wales and the third most people of any county borough.

At the 2011 census, there were 139,812 people living there.

People who live along the coast mostly speak English, while many people who live in the valleys in the north of the borough speak Welsh.
