Flintshire is a county in the northeast of Wales. Its name comes from the Welsh language, Sir y Fflint.

The north border is with Merseyside along the Dee Estuary.

The east border is with Cheshire, the south with Wrexham County Borough, and the west border is with Denbighshire.

The county seat is in Mould, which is also the largest town, Connah’s Quay.

In 2021, there were 155,000 people living in the 169-square-mile (440-km2) county.

Flint (13,736), Buckley (16,127), and Mould (10,123) are the next three largest towns after Connah’s Quay (16,771).
