The county of Denbighshire is in the northeast of Wales.
Its name comes from the Welsh language, which is sir ddinbych. Flintshire is to the east, Wrexham is to the southeast, Powys is to the south, and Gwynedd and Conwy are to the west. The Irish Sea is to the north.
Rhyl is the biggest town, and Ruthin is where most of the government works.
Its borders are not the same as those of the old county with the same name.
