Idah Towns And Villages

Idah is a Local Government Area and river-port town in Kogi State, Nigeria, on the eastern bank of the Niger, about 90 kilometres south of Lokoja. It is the seat of the Igala Kingdom and covers roughly 36 square kilometres, making it one of Kogi’s smallest and most densely built-up LGAs.

The 2006 census counted 79,755 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 107,500. Idah is organised into ten wards: Igalaogba, Owoli Apa, Igecheba, Ukwaja, Ogegele, Ede, Sabon Gari, Ega, Ugwoda and Ichala.

The list below was checked name by name against the 2015 INEC ward and polling-unit directory and the GRID3 Nigeria settlement gazetteer. Names shared with the surrounding Igalamela-Odolu LGA, which has no separate profile on this site, were checked against Igalamela-Odolu’s own INEC records and removed here where they belonged there instead.
