Ugwunagbo relies primarily on agriculture. It provides yam, maize, cocoa, and palm oil to Aba and the surrounding area. Ugwunagbo also has a small crude oil deposit, similar to that of Obuzo. It also has significant urban centres like as Obegu, Ngwayekwe, Ihie, and Asa-Umunka.
