Wukari Towns And Villages
Wukari is a Local Government Area in Taraba State, Nigeria, on the A4 highway roughly 130 kilometres south of Jalingo. Its headquarters sits in Wukari town, seat of the Aku Uka of Wukari, the traditional ruler of the Jukun people. The 2006 census recorded a population of 241,546 across an area of about 4,308 square kilometres.
The Donga River crosses the LGA, and the Benue River marks its northwest boundary with Nasarawa State. Wukari holds ten registration wards — Akwana, Avyi, Bantaje, Chonku, Hospital, Jibu, Kente, Puje, Rafin Kada and Tsokundi — and is home to Jukun, Tiv, Hausa and Fulani communities.
