Takum Towns And Villages

Takum is a Local Government Area in Taraba State, Nigeria, with its headquarters at Takum town, near 7°16′00″N 9°59′00″E. It was created in June 1976 from the former Wukari local government area. Takum borders the Republic of Cameroon to the south and Ussa Local Government Area to the west.

The Kuteb, Kpanzon and Hausa are the major resident groups, and the LGA is under the traditional authority of the Ukwe Takum. As of the 2006 census Takum had a population of 134,576, projected to 211,700 by 2022, across a land area of about 2,503 km². Its postal code is 671101.

This list was checked against the 2015 INEC Directory of Polling Units for Takum LGA, GeoNames Nigeria settlement data, and the GRID3 Nigeria settlement layer. It names settlements only: where one community has several numbered polling units, it appears here once, and electoral-register labels that are not villages — market squares, school premises and the traditional kofar gate-quarters inside Takum town (Kofar Sarki, Kofar Galadima, Kofar Liman and others) — are not listed as separate places.
