Mafa Towns And Villages
Mafa is a Local Government Area in Borno State, Nigeria, east of Maiduguri, the state capital. Its headquarters sits at Mafa town. The area covers roughly 2,869 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 103,600 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 151,800. Mafa holds 12 wards: Abbari, Anadua, Gawa, Koshebe, Laje, Limanti, Loskuri, Ma’afa, Mafa, Masu, Mujigine and Tamsu Ngamdua. Its postal code is 611104.
Mafa borders Konduga, Dikwa and Kaga within Borno State. Boko Haram violence displaced most residents from 2013 onward. Mafa town and the nearby Ngarannam community saw organized returns and resettlement starting in 2019, and the LGA headquarters has since reopened.
