Ofu Towns And Villages
Ofu is a Local Government Area in central Kogi State, Nigeria, with the Niger River forming its western boundary. Its headquarters sits at Ugwolawo (also spelled Ogwoawo or Gwalawo). The area covers roughly 1,680 square kilometres.
The 2006 census counted 191,480 residents; 2022 projections put the figure near 258,100. Ofu is Igala-speaking and organised into 11 wards: Igo, Aloma, Ejule Allah, Itobe/Okokenyi, Ugwolawo I, Ugwolawo II, Aloji, Ofoke, Ochadamu, Ogbonicha and Iboko/Efakwu. It borders Omala and Olamaboro to the east, Igalamela-Odolu and Idah to the south, Ibaji to the southwest and Dekina to the north.
