The North Slope Borough is the most northern borough in the state of Alaska, and as such, it is also the most northern county or equivalent in the entirety of the United States.
The population was 11,031 at the time of the census in the year 2020.
Utqiagvik is the northernmost community in the United States and also serves as the borough seat as well as the major city. Prior to the year 1901, it was known as Barrow.
