The population was 6,000 people as of the 2020 census.
Colquitt is the county seat.
On February 26, 1856, the county was established and named for Andrew Jackson Miller (1806-56), president of the Medical College of Georgia.
The county has a total area of 284 square miles (740 km2), of which 282 square miles (730 km2) is land and 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2) (0.4%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
