Makarfi Towns And Villages
Makarfi is a Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Nigeria, on the Kaduna-Kano railway and highway north-east of Kaduna city. Its headquarters sits at Makarfi town.
The 2006 census counted 146,574 residents. Projections put the 2022 figure near 216,600. Makarfi covers about 541 square kilometres and holds ten wards: Dandamisa, Danguziri, Gazara, Gimi, Gubuchi, Gwanki, Makarfi, Mayere, Nassarawan Doya and Tudun Wada.
Hausa farmers grow guinea corn, millet and groundnuts across the area. Makarfi borders Kudan and Ikara within Kaduna State, and Kano State to the north.
