Webster County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States.
As of the census in 2020, there were 13,017 people living there.
Its county seat is Dixon, and Providence is its biggest city.
It is the county in the Evansville, IN–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area that is the farthest to the south.
The county was made in 1860 from parts of Henderson, Hopkins, and Union Counties.
It was named for Daniel Webster (1782–1852), an American politician.
During the American Civil War, it was mostly on the side of the Confederacy and was the site of several skirmishes and some guerrilla warfare.
Since 2018, it has been a wet county, since Providence, Sebree, and Clay all voted to allow alcohol sales.
The US Census Bureau says that the county covers a total area of 336 square miles (870 km2), of which 332 square miles (860 km2) are land and 3.7 square miles (9.6 km2) (1.1% of the total area) are water.
Webster County is in the part of Kentucky known as the Western Coal Field.
