Wayne County is a wet county as of November 3, 2020—a measure allowing the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages was approved by a vote of 4,901 in favor and 3,966 against.

The county has a total area of 484 square miles (1,250 km2), of which 458 square miles (1,190 km2) is land and 26 square miles (67 km2) (5.4%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
