Warren County is a county in Illinois, which is a U.S. state.

The 2010 census said that there were 17,707 people living there.

Monmouth is the county town.

Before 1825, all of the parts of the state north of the Illinois River and west of the Illinois River were part of Pike County.

In 1841, the western part of Warren County became Henderson County.

Dr. Joseph Warren, who died at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775, was the inspiration for the name of Warren County.

It is thought that he was the first officer to die in the American Revolutionary War.

The present courthouse was finished in 1895. It is made of red Portage stone.

The county has a total area of 543 square miles (1,410 km2), of which 542 square miles (1,400 km2) are land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) (0.1%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
