Lake Butler is the county seat.
As of 2017, each person in the county made $20,396. This makes it the fourth poorest county in the United States.
Part of Bradford County was used to make Union County in 1921. It was given that name to honor the idea of being one.
The county covers 250 square miles (650 km2), of which 244 square miles (630 km2) are land and 6.2 square miles (16 km2) (2.5%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
It has the smallest land area of any county in Florida.
