Tillamook is the county seat.
The Tillamook or Killamook people, who lived in the area when European Americans arrived in the early 19th century, gave their name to the county.
Northwest Oregon is where the county is.
The US Census Bureau says that the county covers 1,333 square miles (3,450 km2), of which 1,103 square miles (2,860 km2) are land and 230 square miles (600 km2) are water, or 17%.
Rogers Peak is the highest point in the county and the Northern Oregon Coast Range. It is 3,706 feet (1,130 m) high.
