Pulaski County is a county in the United States state of Illinois.
It had a population of 5,193 people according to the 2020 census.Mound City is the county seat.
Mounds is its largest city. It is known locally as “Little Egypt” and is located along the Ohio River in the state’s southern corner.
On March 3, 1843, Pulaski County was founded from sections of Alexander and Johnson counties.
It was named after Casimir Puaski, who was killed at the Siege of Savannah during the Revolutionary War.
The county has a total area of 203 square miles (530 km2), of which 199 square miles (520 km2) is land and 4.0 square miles (10 km2) (2.0%) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
It is the third-smallest county in Illinois in terms of land area.
