Kodiak (Alutiiq: Sun’aq, Russian: Ka ak), originally known as Paul’s Harbor, is the principal city and one of seven settlements on Kodiak Island in Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska.
By ferryboat or airplane, all commercial transit between the island’s villages and the outside world passes through this metropolis.
The population of the city as of the 2020 census is 5,581, down from 6,130 in 2010. It is Alaska’s tenth-largest city.
