Alaska is home to a borough known as Lake and Peninsula Borough (Russian: ек-нд-енинсулa, Leyk-end-Peninsula).

Population decreased from 1,631 in 2010 to 1,476 in the 2020 census.

Although it is not the administrative center of Bristol Bay Borough, King Salmon[5] serves as the borough’s seat. Port Alsworth, which is also a CDP, has the most residents of any settlement in the borough.

The Lake and Peninsula Borough has a density of just 0.017 people per square kilometer (0.045 people per square mile), making it the second least populous organized county equivalent in the United States after only the unorganized Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area.
