Henry County is a county in the U.S. state of Missouri.
It is in the western part of the state.
As of the census in 2020, there were 21,946 people living there.
Clinton is the county seat.
The county was made on December 13, 1834, but it was called Rives County at first.
In 1841, it was renamed for a Revolutionary War hero, Patrick Henry.
At first, the county was named after William Cabell Rives, who was a U.S. Senator from Virginia at the time. But after Rives joined the Whig Party, he became less well-known in Missouri.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county covers 732 square miles (1,900 km2), of which 697 square miles (1,810 km2) are land and 35 square miles (91 km2) are water, or 4.8%.
